As we conclude our Soulful Summer Series, we reflect on the incredible journey we've shared throughout Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Our final session focused on a theme that resonates deeply with many of us: the power of self-care amidst life's busy demands. This session was a heartfelt conversation with Natasha, a beauty studio owner, and Kise, a massage therapist, delving into the essence of self-care and its vital role in our lives.

Our panelists shared their journeys, detailing what led them to their respective paths. Their stories highlighted the importance of representation within their industries and how seeing someone who looks like you can make a world of difference in feeling seen and understood.
We delved into debunking the myth that self-care is a luxury. We also explored how they balance self-care with their demanding schedules. Both panelists provided insights into their personal self-care routines and how they make time for themselves despite their busy lives. They also both stressed that self-care looks different for everyone, and it's crucial to be intentional in discovering what works best for you. Their tips and experiences were not only practical but also inspiring, showing that with intention and effort, we can all find ways to nurture ourselves.

Reflection on the Series
As we reflect on this series, we can’t help but reminisce on the power of coming together as a community. Over the past month, we have supported each other along our wellness journeys, celebrated our unique stories, and uplifted entrepreneurs, mental health professionals, and community members.
This series has also highlighted the importance of representation and creating spaces that center on the mental wellness of minority populations. Despite the many external challenges we face, these moments of connection allowed us to be present, share our stories, dispel common myths, and experience joy together. Not to mention, fill our wellness toolboxes with valuable insights and practical tips.
Being the source for better health, our theme this year, has brought everything full circle. These conversations and spaces have instilled hope in our individual and collective mental health and wellness journeys. They’ve served as building blocks for being intentional in our healing, fostering self-love, love for others, and laying the groundwork for a legacy of generational healing, wellness, and resilience.
